The Ballpoint and Combustion of Engine

This study concentrates on improving the aspect of human’s way of living. Moreover, its purpose is to help every individual to lessen their loads or burdens in their everyday chores or activities.
Writing is a representation of language in a textual medium. It plays big significance in everyone’s profession. People encounters different problems in writing, we couldn’t able to bring tablets, quills and ink, and stylus all the time and anywhere. And as answer to this, I have invented this effective writing tool called Ballpoint pen.
While in the field of traveling, I had observed the problem that is suffered by every horse rider. So to improve this field, instead of using horses and chariots I have also invented this machinery, Internal Combustion Engine.

A. Ballpoint Pen
It is an effective writing tool. It could help every writer to lessen their loads in their bags and also makes writing simple and easy. It is a light material you can use in writing. It uses a small rotating ball made of brass, steel, or tungsten carbide to release ink as you write. This ballpoint helps the ink to disperse on the paper evenly. The small rotating ball is placed between an ink container and perfectly fit socket which holds the ball in which while writing it has enough room to roll around in the socket. It uses a fast-drying thick ink that assures the cleanliness of every writer’s paper. The good about this writing machine is that it cost just small penny that everyone can afford to buy and have it in their pocket.

B. Internal Combustion Engine

In which the chemical reaction by burning a fuel occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber. An engine in which a fuel-air mixture is burned in the engine proper so that the hot gaseous products of combustion act directly on the surfaces of its moving part. Is a machine that will probably help us in getting into a place and another. We could use this machine anytime we wanted without worrying if it’s in good condition or not (unlike horses) and in what speed we want to run our travel or trip freely and comfortably. By this traveling machine you ride with you enough number of people in just one ride. With my invention, our economy and way of living of man will probably better and well improve in the near future. And will us in the world of competency

English75: Reading Log

That’s the way, Joshuway by Rhoda Wooldridge

Part I:

1. Reflect- I think it was inspiring that Joshua had overcome and conquered all the hardships that he’d gone through. From the hands of his Uncle Sol, where he was being forced to work beyond his limitations. And sometimes, he was being awarded with some slap and kick from his Uncle.
Despite of all those circumstances and Joshua’s young age of 13, he remained to become the boy that his Grandpap wanted him to be.

2. Connect- Nowadays, I have seen so many “Joshua” around our community. They were the kids who were maltreated by other people and even members of their own family.
While I was reading this book, it reminds me of those children whom I’ve met at the orphanage where we had our acquaintance party last year. It was very touching scene to witness their laughter and joy as we shared our simple presents for them. Those wrapped stuffs mean almost nothing to us but for them it was a big thing. And those innocent smiles they’d given to us had touched us. It was just sad to know that some of them carry tragic stories inspite of their very young ages they had already gone to this kind of situation.
In that way, I had able to appreciate how blessed and thankful I am for having things I have now. My family, friends and the capability to go to school.

3. Question- I’m just puzzled if why Joshua was eager to go to West? What does it has that he’s so desperate to travel all alone just to reach that place? Knowing that Matt Crawford and family were there to accept him to become part of their family.

4. Predict- I think, when Joshua will able to reach West, the place he longed to visit. He will also find the real completeness that he desired to have. Matt Crawford and Callie will have another baby girl and will name her Laurence in remembrance to their late daughter who just died from cholera.

Part ll-

9. Describe your feelings about character. Copy down a quote from a character and tell why you think it’s meaningful.

Josh Carver- I felt it was brave for such a young boy like him who had able to overcome this kind of situation. I believe that the author had create such a strong character in this story in order for the readers to realize that they should also have this kind of will to fight in any circumstances that they will encounter.

Matt Crawford- In this story, he is just an old fellow who had a tender heart for josh. I felt so glad when his character came into the scene. His appearance had made Josh to pursue things that he wanted to do.

Uncle Sol- His character presents the first conflict of the story. I felt bad about his treatment towards Josh, who had taste his cruelty.

Quotation:
“I figure it’s a sight better living with folks who want you,
Than begging strangers to take you along on a trip.”
-Josh Carver

This quotation had leaved a mark on my head. Josh said this on the last chapter of the book, when he decided to stay and live with the Crawford family and to become part of them. Because it’s really true that you don’t need to beg someone to take you with them. There’s no need for you to ask those strangers  if you know that there’s someone out there who is willing to accept and stay for you.

The Writing Device: Ballpoint Pen

This small ballpoint pen is also known now as every student’s bestfriend, without this probably our day will be ruined. A ballpoint pen is a writing device that has definitely made writing easy for us. This device has an ink cartridge, socket and a perfect circle ball as its major parts.

The ball is the primitive part of a ballpoint pen; this is a mechanism for getting the ink onto the paper. It is located between the ink cartridges and is being held by a socket and it is perfectly fitted where the space is enough to roll as we right. As we write the ball turns and gravity forces occur as the ink travels down to the ink cartridge and into the back of the ball which is being exposed so it can pick up ink from the ink cartridge. The ink cartridge serves as the passage way of the ink as it travels forth to the ball and it is where the ink is being stored. While the socket also plays an important part in the process of writing, it holds the ball and allows it to rotate freely without letting the losing the ball. This kind of ballpoint pen is using a fast-drying quick ink.

As we write with the help of our hands, the ball rotates and other parts of the ballpoint pen plays their respective roles and by the gravity force that is present which allows the ink to travel gives the writing process possible and successful as the ink leaves a mark at the surface.

The Queen of People's Heart: Princess Diana

Diana Spencer or also known as Princess Diana the Princess of Wales had played out an old American old fantasy, the real-life fairytale. She came into the royal world in 1980, with the streaked pageboy, lanky limbs back-lighted through the thin flowered skirt, and a kindergarten teacher. But after a few years of being the Princess of Wales she became the Princess Victim, Bulimic, suicidal, betrayed by a caddish paramour with a tell-all book, trapped in a loveless marriage.(Nancy Gibbs and Priscilla Painton pg 35)

However, that image faded away because of her goal, to replace her innocent image by a very 90's portrait of shrewd operator, better at public relation.

In the terrible days between her death and her funeral the mourners' refrain was notably consistent  "She was one of us", for Diana was every-woman on a uniquely grand and glamorous scale, dressed in glorious clothes and to perfection, and morphing from princess bride to rejected wife.(Barbara Kantrowitz pg 48-50)
